Tender steamed artichokes paired with a zesty Lemon-Pepper Aioli 🍋🌿

Ingredients for Steamed Artichokes with Lemon-Pepper Aioli
2 large globe artichokes lemon, halved
Salt (for water)
For the Lemon-Pepper Aioli:
½ cup mayo
1 grated garlic clove
1 teaspoon of The Spice Apothecary’s Lemon-Pepper Seasoning
Instructions:
Trim 1 inch off the top of the artichokes with a serrated knife.
Snip the sharp tips off the outer leaves with kitchen shears & cut off the bottom stems so they sit flat. Squeeze lemon juice into a large bowl with water and place the prepared artichokes in the bowl, cut side down.
Fill a large pot with about 2 inches of water and a steamer basket. Bring to a rolling boil. Add the lemon from the bowl and the artichokes to the steamer basket, cut side down, and cover with a lid. (Make sure the artichokes are not submerged in water)
Steam for approximately 30 minutes, depending on size.
They’re done when a knife easily pierces the base and the leaves pull off easily.
Serve warm with the Lemon-Pepper Aioli.
